Portable Sand Tray Kit

This Portable Sand Tray Kit was created during the challenges of COVID to make sandtray therapy possible in a virtual setting. Each tray was hand-painted and varnished, paired with a curated selection of miniatures, and assembled with care to help bridge the gap when in-person work wasn’t possible.

Inside the kit, you’ll find a remarkably thoughtful and abundant selection of objects, including hand-finished pieces — the tray, peg dolls, house, and polymer clay trees — complemented by a wide-ranging collection of micro objects chosen for their therapeutic richness. The tray's 12" x 8" dimensions closely approximate the proportions of a standard sand tray (28.5" x 19.5"), preserving a familiar balance in a more compact form. Together, these elements create a kit that’s not only versatile and professional, but also exceptionally equipped — and ready to use, complete with sand.

While these kits were designed for telehealth, their compact size also makes them valuable in other settings where a full sand tray isn’t practical — such as training workshops, classroom demonstrations, outreach events, conducting studies, or in-person sessions held in a client’s home or within a facility. Each one remains a rare, hand-crafted reflection of that moment in time when therapists and clients found new ways to stay connected.
